readjusting pressure

Post by calliemarsh » Sat Jan 22, 2005 7:39 am

I am new to cpaptalk.com. I've used a CPAP since 1997, and have appreciated it very much. My question is whether it is possible to increase the pressure adjustment on my Respironics Aria LX? I am at 11, used to be at 12. I have gained weight in the last year and am waking up with apnea episodes more often. Some nights are worse than others. Thanks for any help out there. Callie

    Hi Callie Marsh,
In order to adjust your cpap machine it is recommended to have a sleep study done yearly. Your not supposed to change your machine yourself. You really don't know the proper setting. I recommend you get in touch with your doctor. I also recommend you see a board certified doctor in sleep disorders. Up until now I went to a regular pulmonary doctor and recently switched to a board certiifed doctor in sleep disorders and what a difference in the care you get.

    Howdy,
Get yourself a new autotitrating cpap. Its 2005. Set it at 8 low 15 high. Leave the driving to it. PB 420E $545. Its State of the art and it wont make you fart Save the sleep study $. The Dr wil only use it to buy his GF a new beamer.
