I see your point...but I confess I've never seen any distilled water labeled "potable" or "non-potable". Where do they sell it made from non-potable water?
Any bacterial contaminates will be killed during the process. Any
whatever else with a boiling point greater than 100C stays in the boiler. So specifically what "
whatever else" are you concerned about?
Again, distilled water is recommended to prevent deposits (primarily calcium carbonate) in the equipment, and NOT for health reasons. If you are using anything less pure than tapwater in your CPAP, then you have worse problems than OSA!
The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

I may be the odd man out here, but I would think leaving the humidifier out in the open air to dry is, in fact, exposing it to many more contaminants by doing so.
fwiw - I just used distilled and will try to break Den's record

How ever you accomplish the the task allowing the humidifier chamber and other wetted parts to completely dry out make them less "hospitable" to those little "growy" thinks.
If you are suggesting that you want to set a record for how long you can run your humidifier before it starts to grow, then good luck and let us all know how you do and provide updates on your ongoing health (case studies can be interesting).
If your never go off on a tangent, you are doomed to live your life going around in circles.

I think they are the same of these two distilled and purified water, but I don’t know if I am right or wrong. Some people say that is the same it’s cleaning the water we drink. But other says the difference of these two the stages of cleaning that is the deference.

Does anyone have concerned about distilled water reducing calcium in the head bone?
