Freaking out
I am no longer a newbie but I have a question that is really freaking me out.
I noticed my machine had not switched to DST so I changed it from 11:04 to 12:04. The date was still March 21 so I changed it to March 22.
Now there is no data anywhere. I can't even see compliance.
I've pulled the plug and let it reboot but nothing changed.
Did I commit some great sin? If I did, what do I do now?

Re: Freaking out
I discovered that part of the problem is that my machine is apparently on military time, so it thought I changed it to mid afternoon of "tomorrow". So it's not 13:10 now; it's actually 1:10 on March 22.
I'm going to unplug it again and reboot and see what happens.

Re: Freaking out
Have you been looking at your data using SleepyHead (or any other software)? If so (and assuming you do it daily), all your data is on your computer, safely tucked away so that you can copy it back to your SD card. Assuming the data is truly gone, that is.
I do remember that Pugsy posted about our machines and the time change. I didn't read the entire thing (it was fairly long), because I just don't care enough about the time on my machine. It's not a 12 o'clock flasher that annoys you at every glance, eventually tempting you to figure out how to change the time. What I did get from her post, however, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that in most instances the machine screws up for a day, maybe two, and then gets back to normal. I believe she mentioned "disappearing" data. Don't quote me on any of what I just said. I've had untreated sleep apnea for 12 years. My memory isn't what it once was. It still retains vast amounts of useless trivia, but short-term is pretty well shot.
Anyway, here's her post: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=96266&p=891103#p891103
Also, I highly recommend downloading your data into SleepyHead on a daily basis. If you lose data, you have it all backed up. Also, if you use Windows 8 (I think this also applies to Macs), move the little slider on the side of the card to the "locked" position before putting it into your computer's SD card slot. Of course, also make sure that you move it back to the "unlocked" position before putting it back into your PAP machine. I actually lost all my data because of not doing this (I went from a Windows 7 machine to one with Windows 8, and wasn't aware of this issue; long story), but I had it all backed up, so it was no problem in the grand scheme of things.
Good luck.

Re: Freaking out
Where are you looking? On the machine LCD or using software?Newbie Woman wrote:Now there is no data anywhere. I can't even see compliance.
One night or all past usage nights? One night will show 0.0 because you went to a new session day until you use it but the past data should still be there.
Buggering up the clock or calendar should only mess up one night's data....should NOT make everything go missing. Just maybe one night.
I don't know what you did but it sounds like you messed up the time and changed the clock and calendar a date forward..and that sometimes creates a situation where we can't go back if there is already any sort of data on the machine because it won't let you go back. I had this happen once when I guess I must have changed the calendar by mistake and went forward and had a blank spot for a day in my reports but the machine never would let me go back to fix it. I still don't remember changing the calendar but it got changed.
My suggestion for now....wait until after 12 PM on your machine's clock today...like mid afternoon or this evening and then go back in to the setup menu and make sure the correct change to the clock and confirm that the calendar date is correct.
Then see what tonight's use shows tomorrow.
You may need to do a complete reset on the S9 and that would erase all prior usage...and start with a clean SD card to get things sorted out. That's what I ended up having to do.
But try simple first...last night might be lost...or in pieces but nothing we can do about it now if it is.
Going forward with the settings..either clock or calendar sometimes makes it so we can't go back. It all depends on when the change is made and is there any data within that session time frame.
That's why I posted the alert about DST change and the S9. Someone invariably does something the S9 doesn't like and creates a problem. When you didn't realize military time and went forward the machine got confused.

Re: Freaking out
The S9 machines reset the daily data at NOON each day. When you changed the time, you crossed the NOON barrier, and ALL the daily data on the machine's LCD was reset to all 0's. The data should still be there is you look at stuff in ResScan or SleepyHead, and data for tonight (March 22-23) will show up on the LCD as usual tomorrow morning.Newbie Woman wrote:I am no longer a newbie but I have a question that is really freaking me out.

Re: Freaking out
Thanks for your help.
I'm looking at the LCD window. I only take the card out when I see my sleep doctor.
Apparently my machine was a half day off, but I didn't realize it. I thought it was 11:04 pm and it thought it was 11:04 am. When I changed the date and moved the time to 12:04, that's all she wrote. Data went kapoof. Later I realized the machine was on military time and changed it to the correct time, but it was too late.
The machine registered my data correctly last night.
I'm going to recheck the time and date this afternoon, as you suggested. Would pulling out the SD card and reinserting it after a few minutes help anything?

That's not going to change what shows up on the machine's LCD.Newbie Woman wrote: I'm going to recheck the time and date this afternoon, as you suggested. Would pulling out the SD card and reinserting it after a few minutes help anything?
If the card was in the machine the whole time, then the data should be on the card and show up in ResScan and SleepyHead regardless of whether you pull the card and reinsert it.
