FUNNY: What a way to wake up!!!!
oh boy this morning better not be a sign of things to come.
The alarm clock rings. It is on the floor next to the bed somewhere, i usually just smack around down there till it shuts up.
Well this morning in hear a CRASH, glug glug glug. took me a few seconds to realize that my CPAP, and humidifier fell onto the floor. So now the alarm clock is drownded. Unplugged everything.
keep in mind this was 5AM and i have a room that is basically BLACKED OUT.
A clapper would have been handy to get the light on quickly this morning.
I think the alarm clock is a gonner

Rough way to start the day
At least you've got a sense of humor about it. I had to laugh at the image in my mind of the scene. (Kinda like when someone falls down - you wait to see if they laugh first.) Thanks for sharing.
P.S. Hint of the day - When table space is at a premium, anything flat (like a clipboard size or longer) slid between the mattress and box springs can provide a little ledge for something lightweight (clock and small flashlight) to be easily accessible. And it's even better if the flat object has a small rim, like a cafeteria tray.
Along the same line, a pocketed apron spread flat under the mattress with just the pockets hanging out has been useful for me. For a while I wound up my excess hose in one. But if we solve all our problems, we'll not have these laughs at each others' expense. I'm wondering if anyone else has a funny "me and my equipment" story. I haven't used mine enough to have much. Just one time I jumped up to get to the phone nearby but just out of reach and was snatched back rudely. Didn't realize the hose was wedged between the mattress and headboard. Anybody else?

kteague, what great tips!!! The pocket idea will be GREAT for me to put my glasses in. I have a small dog crate serving as my side table holding the machine and there is no room for much. I can put the books on the floor but not the glasses. The pocket will keep them safe. Thanks for sharing!

This is why a lot of people (me included) like to run their CPAP machines on the floor.

When I was fairly new to CPAPa good friend thought it was fun to wake me in the morning by phoning, since I have a phone in my headboard for safety reasons. She'd call, and I, rudely awakened, would scramble madly to andswer the phone, remove my mask, and disentangle myself from hose all at the same time. Didn't last long once I caught on and simply answered with mask on and CPAP running.......!
