I'm surprised that the VA did an actual in-lab sleep study for you, seeing as how it was your first sleep study. Generally, they send you home with the at-home test kit. You should see if they're willing to do that. The data isn't anywhere near as accurate, but you'll at least be sleeping in a more familiar bed (your own), and will most likely log in more hours of sleep.
