Snoregirl I didn't check your profile but you don't by chance work for the same company in Wisconsin that I do? The reason I jest is our company is self insured and they just pay Humana to manage it.

I told my doc that I am definitely better than being untreated, I felt practically dead at that time. But I live on Provigil and Coke (the soda) so that I can make it through the day at work without cutting off a hand walking into the path of someone driving by.

I told the doc that I will not settle for feeling a little better. I said if my treatment is working the way it should I would not need pills to stay awake at work. I am only asking him to consider that I may not be receiving the correct pressure and told him that for $2,000 that it would cost I could buy two and a half APAPs from cpap.com. I told him that if the APAP he will test me on soon proves my point that it would be economical for the insurance to just buy a APAP instead of continuing sleep studies. But knowing how insurance companys think I told him if the results show I would benefit I should make a change whether or not insurance will pay.

I doubt that we work for the same company from what you say.

Won't help to check my profile since I haven't really taken the time to fill it out. Not sure I really want to. Makes it easier to be honest with what I think.

Love the clarification on the Coke!! Too funny. I also like my caffine. Too much since the caffine I like comes with a healthy dose of sugar, probably most of my weight problem. Artificial stuff gives me headaches. Yes a true sugar junkie.

I also questioned the results of my sleep study in addition to the other issues that made me want apap. My vital identifying information was wrong on the study, the mask I used was listed incorrectly, etc. Makes me wonder if anyone was awake while I was sleeping

But given how much I LOVED the experience of getting all wired up and sleeping in a strange bed, to say nothing of the $$ copay, I am not rushing back for clarification. I have all the data I need at home. My husband. He can tell you all about the snoring and breathing stoppage... If I had it to do over and was more informed I might have asked my doc about getting an auto on the basis of my husband's observations. Don't know how successful that would have been but if there was a chance I should have. I am sure that there are those who would disagree with me but whatever, it is my life.
