Yeah, I remember the other reports. Centrals were high but so were leaks and I needed to see a report with leaks under control before hitting panic button about the centrals....and if you were asleep that last hour last night ....time to hit the panic button about the centrals.
Also I didn't know until now that your centrals were excessive in the diagnostic sleep study. That changes the whole diagnosis.
They aren't related to pressure (though I suppose pressure might make them worse) because you had a truck load of them when no cpap was used. That's central sleep apnea and your machine won't ever be able to fix it and nothing we can do or alter will change things...if you were asleep when that ugly mess occurred.

You likely need one of those high dollar fancy ASV type of machines that treat centrals (and obstructives).
Need to be talking with the doctor.

Here is the last 3 nights. I think I have a good handle on the leak situation, although last night was a little higher than the previous 2 nights. I was a little concerned about the centrals, but they seem
to be coming down. I'm gonna stick with this for another 4 days, and then evaluate. Thinking that I might be able to lower pressures if the ahi keeps improving. Any thoughts or suggestions would
be appreciated. I was told to make an appointment with my sleep dr about the centrals, but again centrals are coming down. I just don't have a lot of faith in the Drs. in my town. Seem to do a lot better getting info from this forum than them or my dme.

This report below is dated March 21..that's today...Is your calendar correct on your machine? If this is last night's report it should be dated March 20th unless you went to bed after midnight but then the clock is an hour off.
Just thought I would mention that. You might want to check the clock and calendar date on your machine.

This report...if you can get more like this one...I would be really happy with. Leaks are well controlled and centrals are (EDIT to add) NOT excessive. I assume you are likely slept quite decent this night...whenever it was.

While the centrals make up almost all of the events, the CAI (and AHI) are still well below 5.0. So that's not technically "excessive." If this is the kind of report that is happening night after night, I'm not sure a sleep doc would recommend doing anything in particular.

The question I have for Bennnyp: How restless were you during the time frame that's marked on the SH graphs as 3:00 and 4:20? There are 3 or 4 small clusters of CAs during that time frame.

Oops I made a big typo

So sorry for confusion. My brain saw "aren't" or "are not" but fingers didn't type it.

I will fix the typo.

I think I'm a pretty restless sleeper. I sleep on both sides, and even on my back once in a while.

That might be the explanation for the small clusters of CAs. In my humble opinion, they're not enough to worry about if this report looks typical.

I think now that you've got the leaks under control, what you need to be focusing on is keeping the leaks under control and learning how to sleep more soundly with the mask. That sometimes just takes some time and patience. A log of how you feel each day upon waking and how well you feel during the day may help you detect small, but positive changes as you grow accustomed to sleeping with the PAP.
