My 550P had the mask check feature available with firmware version 2.01. I believe it can be enabled via the clinician's menu only when the machine is set to Auto mode, but I will double-check.

The 550 I had didn't have it but the firmware was older than 2.01. So it may have been added with later 50 series firmware.
I don't remember the firmware version but it was less than 2...I m pretty sure of that. Date of Manufacture for the 550 I had was also fairly early into production if I remember right.
