Wisp plus oxygen equals.

Post by Cr1kk1t » Tue Mar 04, 2014 9:14 pm

much better sleep.

I love the wisp. I have virtually no leaks and it is so light. I don't get near as many pressure pulses either. I should have switched to it sooner.
I am now also on 2.5 L of oxygen at night and my basal O2 raised from 88.6 to 93. I still have an occasional dip below 89 but very few. I am feeling much more rested now and have more energy during the day. The first night on the oxygen I slept 10 hours! And had an AHI of 3.11 which for me is great. The oxygen connects at my mask so I am using Velcro zip ties to keep the O2 tubing and the cpap hose together. Works great and adds no weight.
Here is to many more nights of great sleep.

I have a question... how are you using oxygen with the wisp mask, when I had mine I don't recall it having an oxygen port. I think I may be the next candidate for oxygen and I'm rather bummed that I won't be able to use my beloved tappap mask. I have two masks that have ports, my Quattro and hybrid, but I really don't want to go with a full face mask but I guess those are my choices. :
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

According to the description, this adaptor could go between the main hose and the small hose that is attached to the mask.

Note: please check with your doctor on recommended placement for your oxygen port.
High usage may limit your choices. (disclaimer to save frog butt)

My adapter for the O2 is placed between the wisp short hose and the main hose. I just use Velcro to hold the oxygen tube to the cpap tube so I don't get tangled up in it when I move around in my sleep.

I am so happy that you have got things sorted out and taken another big step to feeling better.
I know adding the O2 wasn't exactly at the top of your list of things you wanted to do but you will feel so much better.
I am so glad that you have progressed with taking care of yourself like this and didn't give up.

I tried the Wisp a while back but only lasted 90 minutes with it and sent it back ..if I had known you like it I would have sent it to you.

Did you know I experimented again? You know me..always bored and want to try new stuff so I bought a S9 Adapt SV....the ASV central treating machine even though my centrals are essentially a handful maybe sometimes and non other nights.
I adjusted to it quite well and it so nice and easy to breathe with. Don't know what my next experiment will be...I have run out of machines to try.

I too am on O2, and have my oxygen connection between the humidifier and the main hose.
This way I don't have to deal with the O2 hose.
O2 level without CPAP or O2 - 83
O2 level with just CPAP - 89
O2 level with CPAP and O2 - 96

I place my O2 adaptor between the CPAP machine and hose. I tried putting it between the long and short hoses but the concentrator keep going off and beeping. The current configuration produces many fewer beeps.
