Noon ET: USA vs. Canada
Re: Noon ET: USA vs. Canada
Congratulation! USA had it in the bag, but Canada wanted it more. Good game.

Re: Noon ET: USA vs. Canada
I was in an all-day meeting with about 40 senior managers today. Almost all of us were streaming the CBC feed on our phones / laptops / tablets during the meeting and not paying attention to the presenters. The meeting organizers gave up and streamed the game instead of powerpoint presentations.
If you have any doubt we don't consider hockey our game, have a look at this compilation of reactions to Crosby's overtime winning goal in Vancouver back in 2010:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuJH2WXJGHI
The video goes on for almost 10 minutes -- you don't need to watch the whole thing to appreciate that the 2010 US - Canada game was being shown in every hamlet, village, town, city, metropolis and living room across all six time zones from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Canada has seven distinct cultural regions: Newfoundland, the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, the Prairies, the West Coast and the Far North, but one thing, perhaps the only thing, that is common across all seven regions is hockey. The French and English in Canada often bicker, except when it comes to Team Canada. Our passion for hockey is what gets me up at 5 am on a Saturday to drive my goalie son 150 miles in 12 inches of snow to and from a bantam hockey game -- stopping at Tim Hortons both ways, of course.
I would never have predicted a 1-0 game today. The Canadian D were as good as I've ever seen. Price made some solid stops, but the goose-egg on the 'Mericans is largely due to the airtight defensive play by Keith, Hamuis, Weber, Doughty, Boumeester, and Pietrangelo is as good as I've ever seen from a Team Canada.
