My CPAP is not working.

Post by Feramoo » Sun Feb 16, 2014 2:01 pm

Hello I am new here but I really need some advice..so for the past year I have slept great...this month though I have started being fatigued all day..and at night...even get nauseous I am so tired. Anyway I thought maybe it was pressure..so I changed it..but that made it worse..so I am back to my normal because I managed to look at my card information and it says I am getting the same amount of sleep as I was months prior..but I do not feel it. I thought maybe it was my mask being loose due to the straps velcro not sticking well but after cleaning it and having it on tight once more still no go. I dont have money to see a doctor so I am hoping someone has some answers.

without data - it is impossible to provide a reasonable assesment. You can help us by stating your device details (manufacturer, model number etc)

What machine brand and model name are you using?
You looked at hours of use...does your machine report anything beyond how man hours of sleep you got?
It's really hard to offer any answers without anything to go on.

First thing would be evaluate software reports to look for some thing that needs improvement there.
Do you take any meds of any kind? If so, what and dose and time of dose.
How many hours of sleep are you getting?
Do you wake up often during those hours?
Any other health conditions...you know there's a lot of things that can cause fatigue besides OSA and the cpap machine can't fix everything.
What pressure are you using...what pressure did you try that made you feel worse?

Alright ill answer the first one

I use Phillips resperonics system with humidifier.
I Do not take meds.
data says 7ish
No I go to sleep then wake up later and that is when ill roll around a little and relax buut do eventually just get up..I never wake up at night.
Not that I am aware of besides being overweight, I dont have thyroid or diabetes.
Pressure starts at 8 then goes up to 12...when I changed it I tried 9-13 and 10-14.
And yes it records almost everything I have a reader to read the data.

What model machine?
Model number is a 3 digit number on the bottom of the blower unit.

What software are you using?
If it records almost everything...how about a detailed nightly report so we can see what is happening at night...
leaks, pressure, events, etc.

How to post an image of a report so we can see what you see

Ferramoo; Please let us know what model machine you have (edit).
To begin with, how old is your mask, headgear and cushions? (what make is that, too?)
Cushions are designed to deteriorate over time (as little as a month)-
Headgear needs continual adjustment as it stretches out (like cheap undies)
--so the manufacturers have a reliable income source.

I Think 660p is the number model.

And I have had all my gear since last march..but to be honest I hope they are not the problem as I have no money to invest in new equipment.

Alright how much more should I go in your opinion? I tried moving up from 8-12 to 9-13 and it did not help..as I went higher it got worse. Also I have been exercising to lose weight and heard that you increase when you gain.
