provent/theravent?

Post by herefishy » Thu Jan 30, 2014 6:58 pm

For those who loved provent and miss having it, I think it has been reinvented, and over the counter - called Theravent. Has anybody tried these?

I wonder if it's a FLEX item.

At $25 a month, this could cost more than cpap.

I have tried it just to see what it does. It sure blocked my breathing. Then I had to contact Theravent again to stop them from sending me more stuff and billing me for it, without me ever placing more orders. I told them that I don't plan to use it. They replied OK.

herefishy, I see that you're using the Activa mask. Is it possible that these kinds of nasal masks which go over the nose could have the inspiration air pressure press the nose flaps and thus narrow the nostrils and raise the flow limitation (= upper airway resistance)? If yes, then the nasal pillows should not do it.

Avi, I'm blessed with easy breathing, so if I ever feel like my nose is getting "pinched together" I just re-seat the mask and everything is fine.

That is not exactly what Provent looks like. Provent is a sticker per nostril.
