I am curious what pressures people used when first achieving effective results.
(Not the first setting on the machine, but after a good baseline was established.)
When you first began treatment, and were able to become compliant, what was your nominal pressure setting or your minimum if using an APAP?
I am also curious what your first titration was from the sleep lab but that would be a separate question if you wished to answer it in the message text.
Pressure setting or minimum achieve first good results?

Re: Pressure setting or minimum achieve first good results?
My starting pressure was 8. It works OK until I start having events; then it will be up and down. 11-13 takes care of most of my OA's with an occasional bad night needing 14-15. My highest nights were about a month ago and it went up to 17 for 3 out of 7 nights. May have been runaway pressure from the low-ish starting pressure and too wide of a range. We've been adjusting the starting pressure up over the last week and next to start about 10.

It makes no difference, my pressure only applys to my needs as yours does only to you. Jim

A similar poll was done a few years back and I don't have time to go looking for it but there was a nice bell curve with 10 cm being the most commonly used pressure.
The titration sleep study from hell....prescribed RX at 8 cm.
Didn't take a rocket scientist to see that it was not optimal and I ended up with 10 cm minimum when using APAP mode and if I had to use cpap mode I suspect I would need around 13 or 14 cm and because of that...I always have used auto adjusting pressures....with my doctors consent once I showed her why I came up with my minimum and she recommended the max of 20 because on occasion I see 19 cm.

Perhaps a more interesting question would be how soon after your titration was your actual pressure increased? Mine was 8 in the titration, but at the first follow-up visit it was increased to 10 when I told the doc I had woken myself and my wife up with my snoring one night. I have reduced the pressure temporarily to see what would happen as I have lost some weight (about 10 lbs), but my AHI was not improved so I went back to 10. I have also tried putting C-Flex + back on, with a negative effect on my AHI. So, basically, the titration pressure was not accurate for my real-world needs. My next machine will be an auto, which should identify whether I need a higher pressure for part of the night - my doc only believes in looking at the total AHI, so I might be looking for a different doc.

I have never started a poll, and should I ever do so, please kick me where one may be tempted to put said poll.
