Climate line Hose opinions needed

Anyone use the climate line hose for the S9 ? What temp do you use ? any added benefit to one.
Just ordered one from my DME

I use it. I've had my cpap about 11 weeks and it's the only hose I've used.

I started at the default setting of 80 degrees, but I inched it up to the maximum which is 86 and that's where I keep it. It's winter here and we have our house cooler at night. I'm sure I'll lower the temp in other seasons.

I like 84/86 in the winter, less in the summer. The warmer air is comfortable when the bedroom is cool and I've never had rainout.

For me, I found the auto setting with the climate line hose did not provide enough humidity. I switch to manual, and have the humidity set at 5.5, as 6 uses the whole chamber of water before I wake up. I do get some rainout in my mask due to my breathe if I do not use a barrel cozy (like with a nasal mask) but bone dry when I use my nasal pillows that have a barrel cozy. I like the max temp with my pillows, but find the nasal mask harder to breathe so I turn down the temp a couple. This is my experience anyway. Whatever you do with the h5i climate system, make small systematic changes so you can really tell which variable is having the affect you want (temp vs humidity).

I have the temp set at 79 and the humidity set at 4.5. This uses about 3/4ths of the humidity chamber over night; usually about 8 hours. Anything more than 4.5 the exhalation holes in my mask start to whine and make noise until I wipe the moisture away from the outside. I do get some condensation in the mask from breathing, but I haven't had rainout yet. It usually stays in small droplets in the mask. Average humidity in the house over the winter is about 35 to 40% and keep the temperature around 66 at night.

I love the climate line hose & use it in the manual mode!

83 degrees with humidity set at 5.0 during the winter..... I crank the humidity & temp levels to max when I have a cold.

I turn the temp down to min and humidity to 3.0 to 3.5 in the summer

At a pressure of 10cmH20 you can easily use any 15mm Climateline hose or regular22mm Climateline hose (if you need the heated feature). However, for anybody getting into the upper teens it might prove beneficial to look into the heated ClimatelineMAX hose. I've found to be a good deal because it lasts a long time when using high pressures - plus if I don't use it, my Adapt machine will beep and complain... hence, the MAX designation. It's really built tough, therefore maybe not quite as flexible. At most internet outlets it’s about the same price as the regular Cimateline hose. A nice bonus. Downside? It doesn’t come in a 15mm size yet

i never realized there was a temp controlled hose for my S9 till a few days ago. the DME issued a slim line hose with machine. am currently trying a pressure of 11 as before when that was my apap start pressure to see if i can get ahi back down to 1. am using 1 now on humidity now instead of passover. looking forward to the hose temp control. this cold weather brings the humidity way down . Can't hardly touch anything without making a spark

I had looked at the ClimateLine Max hose when I first got my 1st S9 AutoSet a couple of years ago. I looked at it again today.

ResMed recommends this hose if the pressure EXCEEDS 20.

I sleep in a recliner because of back problems & my APAP pressure of 14 -20 does sometimes reach 20. In a bed on my side, it rarely gets above 16.

On cpap.com, there seems to be about a $10 difference in cost.

Just wondering whether insurance (Medicare in my case) would reimburse the DME extra if I order the ClimateLine Max instead of the plain ClimateLine.
I doubt that the DME would be willing to be reimbursed for the plain ClimateLine when I am sure their cost for the Max is greater.
If my DME balks about ordering it for me, I would be willing to pay the $10 difference.

My point in even trying the Max is whether it might reduce my Flow Limitations. My AHI is always below 3 & often below 1, but yet my Flow Limitations are up there. There are separate threads on Flow Limitations, so I won't try to discuss this here.

I do have a climate line hose but chose not to use it. I live in the desert - very dry here. I keep it in case I ever need it. Just use the slim line - no heat but humidity level is set to 4.5.

Auto, temperature adjusted as ambient temperature changes.
Warm (or cool) nose--happy frog.

have used the climate line hose now for 2 nights. Very nice !
this is probably a stupid ? , but i am assuming that the humidity option goes away & only control is temp setting . first setting was on 80 degree, switched to 75 because of going 1/2 tank per night. big difference from passover or 1 setting.
i can see why this machine is so popular

You control the temp in Auto and the humidity is maintained at 80% by the humidifier in auto.

squid13 is right.

You can only change the temperature setting in the "Auto" mode.

If you want to manually control both the humidity setting & the temperature setting, you must take it out of Auto mode.

My own personal opinion is that I want the machine to do everything automatically that it can do so adequately.

And the Auto mode works very well for me & I don't think that I could do better trying to control the humidity manually.
