Pressure confusion

I am confused about pressure. In Sleepyhead my pressure graph shows a nearly flat line on 5 which is my Rx. When I look on the statistics page(Tab at top left) at 95% it is straight across 5 including Most Recent. The Average pressure graph shows Most recent 13.90, seven days 7.o4, 30 days 6.09. I have less than 2 months on cpap. Where did the 13.9 come from? I know my machine adjusts but have not seen the range. I slept well last night AHI 0.71 all hypopnea everything else 0 except 4.59 RERA.

If your mask got knocked sideways and/or your mouth was open while sleeping, that could account for the big jump.

That's where you need to start. When you find out how your machine is configured, then you may be able to solve your confusion.

It sounds like your machine setup doesn't match your Rx.

You should be able to go into the clinical menu to find out.........without changing any settings.

Thanks,It is set at CPAP, CPAP Pressure 5, then CFlex+ ,set at 2. The rest is humidifier etc. I am not sure what to look for I thought there would be an upper and lower range with a median setting of 5. At the DME I was told it would adjust if I needed a different pressure not just the exhale. I never saw what I listed here until I surfed and found YouTube videos before I discovered the forum. I did change the ramp to 0 because it was harder to adjust the mask seal with the lower pressure start and I felt I wasn't getting enough air. I did start the blower just before I put on the mask. It seems to seal better then.

I just noticed that on the main statistics page it had been set on Auto mode A-Flex x2 low pressure 4 high 20 then later changed to what is there now but the date was in October and I didn't get the machine until November 25th.

The earlier data you are seeing comes from the initial setup on the machine and a quick test the DME did while placing it in inventory. A wide range like that is common but got changed to reflect your Rx.

On the statistics page...that AFlex Auto range time frame from before you got the machine...how many days is that showing as being used?
If you look at the software reports for the time in October where APAP was used...are there any reports associated with it?

Pugsy, it looks like it was set on the A flex settings on the 18th of October and then changed on the 19th and has had the same settings to today. Sorry, I have to find directions for doing quotes. If I go into Sleepyhead I get no data for any dates but my first night to last night. I wondered my machine had been a return as it was not in a box but ready to go but decided they had preset it with my Rx before the appointment.
For all, I looked into the clinical settings and it looks like I would have to change to A flex to add a high and low pressure range.
The current settings are: Mode = CPAP, CPAP Pressure = 5.0, Flex type = C-Flex plus set at 2. The rest was humidity, hose, ramp etc. I have never used ramp as 5 is not much pressure to start with. I put a call into my doctors office to speak with one of his "technical assistants" but I haven't heard back but said I would be gone all afternoon.
I have read posts and watched videos about CPAP and APAP so I think I understand the differences. CPAP seems to be a kinder gentler APAP to make it more likely people will use it. Comfort seems to be the word. I was certainly comfortable. After the first confusing couple of nights I slept 10 hours straight and loved my machine. I will never give it up but will consider changes.
I think I will leave all settings the same except I will switch the pressure to 6 and see what happens tonight. I will call the office again in the morning and ask about trying APAP. I am concerned about doing anything that would affect my Medicare coverage though I am not normally described as "compliant". Any suggestions from you all are welcome.

Finally heard from Dr.s' office, of course by then I had already changed pressure to 5.5(started slow to track changes). "Darrel"(office support) was not happy and how did I know how to do change the pressure anyway. He wants me to bring in my card so the Dr. can see how I am doing even though I said the .5 change had already helped.
It really has. I slept 8.5 hours straight last night no feeling of difficulty breathing. Hypopneas .70 same for AHI and RERAs at 2.33. The hypopneas were when just as I went to bed, awake, and coughing a bit (allergies).
I am happy and Hope Dr. will be also. Thanks to all for great information and suggestions.
