CPAP software for Mac's

Post by apw5746 » Sun Jan 19, 2014 11:54 am

Is there a free software for Mac's? I've already downloaded the SleepHead which is free. Also how do you read the data?

I use ResMed S9 AutoSet, S9 H5i Heated Humidifier with Climate Control, witth a Swift FX Nasal Pillows with headgear. Currently I only understand the readout on the machine which give hours used for the night, mask fit, and AHI. Don't fully understand the AHI reading though.

I know that I have leaks, as I move around a lot each night. I'm a side sleeper, and usually sleep on right side, and no I can't tolerate a FFM.

There's no other SW for Macs, but if you have an Intel machine like I do, you can use e.g. Win XP or others to DL other programs.

To date the only software available for Macs is SleepyHead. SleepyHead is great, I use it on my Mac. As far as learning how to use it and interpreting the data it provides, look for forum member Pugsy as she has all the links you need attached to all her posts.

I have a MacBook Pro with Parallels installed with Windows so that I can use ResScan on the Windows side and Sleepyhead on the Mac side. With a Mac, you can have the best of both worlds.

I load my SD card data into both ResScan and SleepyHead every morning and wouldn't be without either one of them.

First, into ResScan because IMHO its "style" of the previous night's graphing displays of Leaks, Events, etc. "click" in my mind better and faster and I know where I stand instantly for the previous night, in a visual manner. Even the "red line" in the Leak graph is a big deal for my thinking processes, since I am just waking up!

Then into SleepyHead because Mark's Statistics Page is IMHO far superior to ResScan's in giving me the numbers for "the big picture" of where I've been going for the Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 6 Months, Last Year; and my Changes to Prescription Settings stacked from bottom to top - all on one page! And then don't overlook clicking the Records button over at the bottom right side of the screen showing you Best AHI, Worst AHI, Best RX Setting, Worst RX Setting with Dates, Numbers, etc. for each of said best and worst nights! It's analytical power is amazing!

Regards, Nate

Anyway, my problem is that the past few nights I would wake up with my nasal passages so stopped up I can't breath and sometimes I wake up to spray my nose so it would open up. at times it works other times not like tonight. could it be too much moisture could 'waterlog' my nasal passages?
