S8 Elite II Efficacy Data Results Question
In my S8 Elite II efficacy data results menu the PRESS says NO DATA. In the S8 manual the clinical menu results chart on page 28 shows a pressure reading. Does anyone know why my S8 always says NO DATA? The results menu in both standby and clinical menu sections says NO DATA.

Re: S8 Elite II Efficacy Data Results Question
Charles, I've noticed the same thing, but I haven't tracked down the answer. I think it may not report the pressure when using EPR. I know my pressure is not currently being displayed, but it has in the past and I may not have been using EPR then.
I haven't worried about it because in the CPAP mode (which I'm currently using) the pressure is pretty much the set pressure except when experiencing large leaks which overwhelm the machine. The other thing is that even though the pressure is not displayed on the machine, it is displayed with ResScan which I rely on more than the machine for results. ResScan does report a 95% pressure in the cpap mode with EPR.
A test of my theory would be to turn EPR off and see if the pressure is displayed, assuming you're using EPR.
Another possibility is that the machine does not report a 95% pressure in the CPAP mode which, after all, is rather meaningless and the reference in the manual only applies to S8's in the auto mode, which could explain why I've seen it in the past and not now.

charlesrshell,
Is the NO DATA problem a new problem or has the machine always been this way?

Here's the same question from 2009: viewtopic/t38079/No-Pressure-Data-in-S8 ... ml#p332762
I don't think it was definitively answered.

I have been testing three different mask since 20 Dec 13. The EPR settings were either off or level 3. The last six nites I have tested with EPR turned off. Since testing started I have never seen any pressure data. It always says NO DATA. I do not have an auto mode. My machine is the S8 Elite II, not the S8 AutoSet. So maybe it is only the AutoSet machine that shows the pressure data. I have a sleep doc appointment next week and hope to get another sleep study done and get a ResMed S9 AutoSet machine.
I have been attached to a CPAP machine since 2004 but never checked results, just put on the mask at nites and turned the dam thing on, and went to the yearly sleep doc appointment. I am faithfully on the CPAP machine every nite because my wife would kick my a-- I didn't. So I am just now learning about all the efficacy readings, machine settings, etc. thanks to the folks in this forum. My wife says I have been snoring with my mask on so I guess my pressure needs to be cranked up. After all the things I have been learning in this forum I hope to get another sleep study done. Thanks Jay and all others for your help.

I am not sure robysue. I know it has said NO DATA since 20 December 13 because I have been daily keeping up with my efficacy results on a spreadsheet.robysue wrote:charlesrshell,

Re: S8 Elite II Efficacy Data Results Question
Thanks Jay, good thread find. After reading it, tonite I will turn my Ramp off and see if there is any pressure readings in the mornig. Maybe the ramp setting has something to do with it. I have always ran with the Ramp setting on 45. Hope my wife can hang in there till she can get to sleep. She will probably wear her ear plugs!Jay Aitchsee wrote:Here's the same question from 2009: viewtopic/t38079/No-Pressure-Data-in-S8 ... ml#p332762

Re: S8 Elite II Efficacy Data Results Question
Charles, I suspect the S8's do not display pressure data in the CPAP mode, there would really be no reason to. The pressure is what has been set. That would explain why I remember seeing it (when I was in auto) and now it is not displayed (in straight CPAP). I've never used ramp.

OK, thanks Jay. I will not change the Ramp tonite. Will not have to deal with the wife now!Jay Aitchsee wrote:Charles, I suspect the S8's do not display pressure data in the CPAP mode, there would really be no reason to.
