My sleep study last March was definitely very borderline as to whether to prescribe a CPAP -- I think I had something like 5.1 AHI; mild OSA, but the clincher for the doc was that my worst apnea was like 187 seconds long. (Eek! I stopped breathing for 3 minutes?!)
I had a follow-up visit a month later, and he said all was well, therapy was going well, etc. but not much other info.
I've been very faithfully using it. I haven't noticed much difference in terms of - wow, I feel so much more alert or anything of that nature. Nothing obvious to me to show that it is working well. My high blood pressure hasn't really lowered at all (which my general doc had originally thought/hoped the CPAP might assist with). I've done fine sticking with it; the first mask seems ok and I've adapted without issue.
I've since moved out-of-state. I've done a bit of reading here, but am a bit overwhelmed trying to find somewhat similar situations, and would love to get some feedback from the community on my stats as to whether I'm on the right track, and if the therapy appears to be helping in any way. I haven't seen to many others with a low starting AHI. Also, do I need to find a new sleep doctor here, or just continue with what I'm doing?
