CPAP With Strep Throat

Post by Nester » Thu Jan 02, 2014 9:39 am

Hello all,

I'm dealing with a nasty case of strep throat, and unfortunately my throat is too swollen for my CPAP to reliably work. I have upped the pressure, but it's already pretty high and I'm running out of room on that front.

Does anyone have any ideas or tips for coping with this? I'm on antibiotics, so it will run its course, but I can barely keep my eyes open to type this.

Thanks,

Nester

You are doing the right thing - it is a matter of just surviving through it.

Do a really good cleaning of your equipment after it is over.

Turn your humidifier up as high as it will go. It will help!

During the day, lots of warm salt water gargling, and drown those bugs out with tons of fluid--warm chicken broth (homemade if you can) and tea.

And consider a probiotic supplement to help the good bugs in your digestive system make a quick comeback from the antibiotics.

Feel better soon!
