CL2 ordered today

Post by idahogal » Thu May 25, 2006 11:15 am

Ok, I finally did it. I could not resist anymore. I broke down and ordered the CL2 today and ordered the direct seal also. Now I will have all three interfaces. My question is, are there any pointers as to any "deconstruction" that needs to be done or any modifications I should make in order to have the best possible results?

The CL2 is my favorite interface (of the 6 that I own ). To make it work for me, I used two of Rested Gals mods. First I cut off the "U" connector and attached the short Activa/Mirage tube to replace it and I also use the panty hose leg trick to keep the pillows from shifting during the night. Others have had good luck with it as is out of the box so give it a try first but know that there are options if you have any problems with it. Best of luck.

The headgear fits fine, and is most comfortable of all I've tried, BUT I have to GLUE the Simple Cushion to my face at times. Keeps me home a lot. I lay awake listening for leaks each time I move. Yet, when it's sealed, it's the best.

The only modifcation I made was to remove the elbow as RG suggested. I run my hose through a band on the wall behind my head and the elbow caused the mask to pull. Once I did this I no longer had it pulling as I turned over.

I use the pillows as I found the direct seals irritated my nostrils. To make the Simple cushion work I found I had to tighten the straps down too much. For the pillows I at first had the top strap really tight. This caused the headgear to slide up. Since then I adjusted the bend in the metal and loosened the top strap alot. Even if the strap slips off in the back the mask stays in place with a good seal - go figure.

Thanks all, great advice. I will try these modifications and see if they work for me. Thanks again
