I do not remember the last time I have had my blood checked. I barely ever visited the doctor because my mom and dad never took me there. I am still waiting on my health insurance

Is there something that I should have done? Please tell me because if there is a chance for any help I would do it in a heartbeat

It sounds like you need a sleep doctor, not just a regular doctor.

The high melatonin is dangerous, and you may be addicted already. It will be hard to get off it, but worth it. Adding more and more will just cause more problems.

Have you tried a split sleep schedule? Some people are better with that. Sometimes, I wake up after 4 or 5 hours, spend an hour at the computer, and then go back to sleep for 2 or 3 more hours. Overall, I get enough sleep, and since I'm not worried about getting back to sleep, I don't get get upset and make sleeping harder. I just read emails, the groups, ehatever until I feel ready to sleep again. Sometimes, getting worked up about it, makes it worse.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Have you tried meditation? I'm serious, you sound so strung out!

I agree with Julie get a good medical work up. I am not a doctor. But, maybe the doc will recommend some some some sleep aide (if needed) e.g ambient or other sleep meds. In addition, when you wake up try some deep breathing, guided imagery, calm place, count to 100 and then countbackward if needed while deep breathing, and prayer can be helpful. . Good Luck on sleeping well.

Sleepinow,

I meant to respond to your post yesterday but unfortunately didn't. I am in a rush but wanted to endorse you seeing a doctor for a general checkup to make sure nothing else is going on. I intend to do that regarding my sleep issues with pap therapy.

You are taking way too much melatonin. Not to sound like I am piling on but I really worry about what you are doing. Ideally, you should be sticking to a very miniscule dose.

I understand the desperate need to sleep but you're just making things worse for yourself. You can have just as good a results when you wake up prematurely drinking soothing tea and perhaps eating a sleep inducing food. The sleep won't be as long but will be greatly improved.
