How long will a new in package mask last?

How long will a new in package mask last? Will the silicone degrade over time?

I like having back-ups to important items.

Under the proper conditions.......I would say "indefinitely".
I have two complete ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face masks that I purchased from CPAP(dot)COM in 2006, which are factory sealed in their bags AND are in the boxes and they look like "new" (which they essentially are). There is no discoloration of the cushions as they have been kept away from light sources.
Even silicone discoloration is not a sign of "deterioration".

I also have quite a few seals/cushions and headgear that I purchased around the same time that are still sealed in packages and stored away from any light sources that may discolor or deteriorate them. They show no signs of discoloration or degradation either.

I get YEARS of use out of my mask cushions and headgear.

If you keep them out of sunlight and sealed they should last for years

Nothing lasts forever. Keep it in a cool dark place, a year or more should be fine, mark the date on package rotate the stock. Bee careful, they tend to breed like coat hangers used to. Jim
