Resmed S9 Autoset auto cpap question...

Post by gohanvox » Tue Dec 17, 2013 1:27 am

Just got this based on stellar reviews and because I wanted something good for travel. Only issue I'm having with the S9 Autoset auto cpap is that it feels like it shuts off when I exhale. It doesn't, and it ramps back up with each inhale.

I want the pressure to constantly blow like on my old Resmed machine. Is there a setting I can adjust? I've tried all 3 EPR settings and there's no difference. I suppose the point of EPR is to help with the exhale, but I don't like the sensation that it's suddenly turned off/sounding like Darth Vader.

Any suggestions? Or am I just gonna have to get used to it? :/

You will need to turn EPR off.

Hold lower rectangle button and round button on the right until the menu comes up.
push the round button, then rotate it until the right line is highlighted.
Push the round button until it reads EPR off.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

The EPR is one of the biggest things I love about this machine. But then it is my first and I have not experienced others. I turned EPR up to 3 last night and loved it.

Put your hand in the airstream from the exhaust vent and you'll probably see the pressure doesn't really vary that much.

However, if it bothers you, it bothers you. Try turning off EPR.
