Is it the "right" mask that helps you get the really low AHI or are there other factors?
We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails!

Mostly "other" factors with luck playing a big part.
Night before last I had AHI 0.0 and this is extremely rare event for me...but I only slept 5 hours and 45 minutes and those hours weren't good sleep at all...extremely fragment sleep with a gazillion wake ups due to really, really bad pain. Long story but major trauma to fingers on both hands.
Had nothing to do with my mask or my therapy except I simply probably didn't get to REM stage sleep where my OSA is worse.

My AHI normally bounces around and 0.0 is NOT something I dwell on as it is an unrealistic goal for me.

Having the "right" mask really doesn't guarantee much except if the mask is so comfortable that the person sleeps well and doesn't have any wake ups (where we might get awake events getting flagged) and all the stuff associated with a well fitting mask with minimal leaks.

Sorry about your fingers
I don't mean to hi-jack Dive Apneas thread but was wondering, if I had a good night with no leaks (at least none that woke me), and I only woke up twice and went right back to sleep, yet my AHI was 4.76 (H=2.94)

I see 0.0 AHI as like hitting a "hole in one." but don't dwell on it, I usually notice AHI >1 a night, and very rarely go over that. As far as sleeping 10.3 hours, my wife must be taking pitty on me, letting me sleep so long, as she wakes with the two kids under 5. It is pretty rare for me to sleep that long, musta been tiiiiiiiiirrrrred! I got diagnosed with 28events an hour, pressure set at 12, but I had a problem with my first machine, so they replaced it, and the new one had pressure at 10, which I liked much better. 12 seemed overwhelming, and my AHI stayed >1.0 with 10.
Pressure: 10
