combination of devices
I am desperate for treatment after four years of failing to have my Apap work more than 20% of the time according to a readout from its sampling the usage. I wonder if anyone with severe apnea like me combines save an Aveo TSD and their cpap..apap machine.

I've used the Good Morning Snore Solution with the cpap but it only works with a pressure NO GREATER than 6! If you try it, I'll bet you find the same thing. Air tends to rush out of the mouth and/or the sinuses get very dried out if you use a higher pressure than 6 (which is painfully low). So it's a NO-GO for me since I need a much higher pressure to feel good.
I have recently created a VERY crude design of a mouthpiece that can prevent the tongue from falling back and that will work with a cpap mask where it is imperative that one keep the mouth closed. I've submitted it for patent review and don't know yet what the patent attorney thinks about it. I don't even know if it will work. I only know that companies need to be aware of the terrible problem of keeping the tongue from falling back in REM sleep for people who also need to use cpap at the same time. If there is any news about the status of my mouthpiece, I'll let this forum know. Fingers crossed.

If you could register for the forum and fill out your equipment profile, that would help members better target their advice to your situation.
Regarding combination treatment, what you are thinking about is the Tap Pap Interface.

If this interests you, you might want to go to http://www.apneasupport.org/sleep-apnea ... n-f20.html and look for posts by sleepdent who is very knowledgeable. And PM him any questions you have about this treatment as he is very knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, I don't have any links to studies that provide the effectiveness of this treatment. But it is my understanding it is used for people with severe apnea who can't succeed just with pap therapy. The advantage of the combination treatment is it enables you by using the dental device to lower the pressure which might make it more tolerable for people. And the mask doesn't have any straps.
But obviously, there are negatives that you have to consider.
Meanwhile, take the first steps in registering and filling out your equipment profile. Members here are very knowledgeable and might be able to get you back on track depending on the situation.
