I purchased a Heat Moisture Exchanger designed for the Z1 Travel CPAP (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/z1-hea ... -unit.html), thinking I might use it to add humidity when using my Transcend travel CPAP; the design of the Z1 HME is such that it can connect inline with my normal mask (Swift FX), whereas the Transcend HME only works with a few select masks. I know they say it is only intended to be used with the Z1, but I figured, what could be the harm?
The HME arrived today. Also today, I noticed that on Transcend's web site they say "Special pressure monitoring technology had to be developed to allow the use of HME technology in CPAP applications ... You should note that because this pressure monitoring technology changes the air flow pattern in the mask during exhalation ..." (http://www.mytranscend.com/faqs/search/hme)
This has me thinking that perhaps turning myself into a guinea pig is not such a good idea. I'd love to have some humidification when I travel, but ...
Curious whether anyone else has tried using the Z1 HME with a different CPAP?
Using HME from Z1 Travel CPAP with Transcend or other CPAPs?

I think you should try it and let us know what happens -- that is if you survive
