I like to update my profile with a software type I am my machine is using based on the available range of software options provided within the cpaptalk.com .
The choices available in the profile menu are all old from back when we purchased software from cpap.com and none of those choices are applicable to the software that will work with your machine. So we usually just leave that part of the profile blank if we are using the newer machines with the newer software.
Instead you can just manually add it to the comments section if you wish but it isn't a critical issue.

You have 2 choices with your current machine for software that will work with your machine.
Either SleepyHead or ResScan or you can use both if you wish.
You can find out about both here at this link
https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment

SleepyHead has both Windows and Mac versions available. ResScan has only Windows version available.
So if you use a Mac you will have to use SleepyHead unless you put a virtual Windows on the Mac (and it can be done).
I usually suggest people start with SleepyHead as it is a little more user friendly than ResScan.
If you want to get an idea of what ResScan looks like there is a little video available.

Not Pugsy, but most computers have a SD Card Reader now in them that you just put your card into. Look all over yours to check. If you don't have a slot you can buy a USB SD card reader.

This puzzles me. The Au Sable River is 900 miles by road from Atlanta, GA.
Those (also posted as) things don't mean much any more. They just mean those people had the same IP address at some point in time.

With IPv4 addresses running out, ISP's are reallocating IP addresses all the time. The IP you have today in New York might be used by someone in LA the next day. Doubly so with smart phones, WiFi hotspots, WiFi in hotels, airports, home depot, Walmart, restaurants, libraries, company offices, etc. On one board I helped run, users on one local ISP would get a new IP address a couple of times a day.

When my tank runs dry it smells like stinky feet, and it wakes me up. When it happens, I have to clean my tank with Dawn dishwashing liquid, then soak in vinegar water for a half hour, then rinse carefully with water from faucet, and then rinse it one last time with distilled water before I fill it to the max level with distilled water. I don't change my water every day, but I top it off every few nights, as long as I don't forget and fall asleep without checking it. Once you have run the humidifier tank dry while being heated, you will probably avoid it all costs because it stinks and takes awhile for the hose to stop sending the smell up your nose & mouth, even after washing the hose & tank carefully. It eventually dissipates over the next few days, but I'll bet you won't want to do it again any time soon. I use Clear essential oil sold by CPAP.com to hide some of the stink till it dissipates enough that I can't smell it. The Clear is nice to decongest my nose from allergic congestion too.I put the essential oil on a diffuser wafer you can buy when you buy the oil, & lay it next to the air intake, NEVER put anything in your humidifier tank water. They sell a little metal tray you can put a drop of oil on the diffuser & it holds the diffuser wafer up to sit it by the intake vent on the back of your CPAP machine, or you can use a cotton ball on a lid or small plate to protect your furniture.

My tank smells worse the longer it has gone since being clean and dry.
If I can smell anything at all with it cold, it is time to clean it good.
Water and Dawn Pure Essentials, with a brush to get every cranny.
Rinse in hot running water. If I still have doubts, equal parts hot water and McCormick vodka,
Shaken, not stirred, in the chamber, and poured on my dish sponge (share the happy)
One last hot water rinse, then invert over a towel on my pillow to dry.
Refill at night.

Figured you would drink the McCormick and then you wouldn't care about the smell.

One way to get the water in the humidifier tank to last longer is to raise the humidity of the room. An old-fashioned vaporizer, or a cool-mist humidifier, or one (or more!) of each should do the trick.

Cathyf,

Have you ever had that experience you shared above? My concern is that,if a room has a raised level of humidity, then sleeping will be next to impossible.

Wow. What a roundabout way to make the humidifier water last longer.

Whether you need more room humidity depends on a number of things including, but not limited to, ---

- The climate you live in and what season it is.
- The type of HVAC you have and how you operate it.
- How airtight your house is.

You don't want to put too much moisture into the air in your house.

Optimum room humidity range is considered to be 40 to 60%. Here is a chart showing some problems you get when the humidity is outside the optimum range.

If you describe the problems you are having with your humidifier, including your machine settings, mask type and leak level, we can help you solve them.

Hmm..., I was merely responding to the other's poster but Iam sure, the original poster who created this thread seems to have an issue with keeping water in the water tank to stay long.

Also, any suggestions on how to keep the hose from wrapping around my neck when I sleep?

Thanks
Yanno, if they did invent it, we'd all be on here wondering why our maskless, hoseless, non facial attaching CPAPs weren't staying on our faces.
Soft straps and mask liners are your friend.

As for the wrapping round neck thing, my RT told me to run the hose under my pillow. When I remember to do that, it helps.

This arguably the first time I have heard someone mentioning the term 'Soft straps'. Do they really exist? Can someone post a photo of some here? I would like to order some. Hard straps are causing me some pain on head and the chin.
