Are you kidding me? I notice that my "Great Value" Iodized Salt label from Walmart says it is "Gluten Free."
It also says it has "0 Calories and 0 Trans Fats."
That's funnier than hard candy that is 100% sugar labelled "fat free food." Who in the world would even think that plain old salt might have gluten, trans fats, or calories? Are Americans really that uneducated?

Hey, salt is health food, doesn't have any of that bad stuff in it *smile*. The more you use, the healthier you'll be.

We keep a big jug of gluten in the fridge. Pour it on about everything we eat. Delicious!

Sadly there is gluten in stuff you never expect too have it: spices, coffee, broth, candy, meats you name it and they will add gluten to bulk it out, plump it up.

If it is consumable and packaged, it has a nutrition label.
This includes bottled water and ICE!
It kills me that "gluten-free" is put on so many things that would have no business containing grain.
(Where else would you find gluten?)

Yes however barley malt is a really nice sweetener that is used by many companies making really nice chocolates and it is made from grain with gluten.

BlackSpinner is right. Gluten is even found in some cosmetic products. I work with a woman who has such severe celiac that she has to be that careful about everything she exposes herself to. Even products labeled gluten free may have small amounts of gluten because the labeling laws allow products with less than 20 ppm to be labeled gluten free.

Yes and I forgot medications. Sometimes it is not even on the label.

So, even beer can contain gluten; that is so unfair!

I've worked in the deli section of a supermarket and I was surprised to find that quite a few of the hams have flour/wheat in them. Chicken stuffing has flour in it
