Mask pressure causing morning headache

Post by HorowitzJudy » Mon Nov 25, 2013 5:34 am

I wake up in the morning with a headache right between my eyes where the mask sits. I am wearing a Quatro air, which I really like except for this problem. I have tried loosening the straps and using a Gecko pad. I've had the problem with other masks, too. Any ideas???

Need to know a lot more before we can see if we can help. Please register and put your machine, etc in the profile.

We also need to know what pressure(s) your machine is set at. Sometimes, if the pressure(s) are low, one can wake with a headache. It may have nothing to do with the mask.

On the other hand, you may have the mask too tight and that is causing the headache. Masks are to be worn very loose.

Give us more info and we maybe can help.

Welcome, Judy.

How long have you been doing CPAP? Sometimes your body adjusts to apnea and when you start CPAP, your body is sort of "out of balance" and your chemistry, hormones, etc. are screwed up until you readjust. It's a bit like stopping smoking, drinking, or many kinds of legal or illegal drugs.
