Good evening all,
As my subject states, how do you reduce the leaks with the Nano??? 2 things:
1) I went from long hair to short hair
2) To keep mask from breaking off the top hairs (nesting), I put on a skull cap every night.
I thought using my chinstrap would take care of the issue, it's not.
I've done plenty of searches which don't seem to work for me.
Last night, I had 46 event after 2 hours of sleep. I don't blame my body for taking off the mask! This act was done in my sleep.
Thanks,
Starlette
Swift FX Nano: Major Leak Issue
Re: Swift FX Nano: Major Leak Issue
Hi Starlette... have you positioned the top strap directly in the middle of your head... not tight but not real loose either.
Have you tried positioning the bottom strap closer to the bottom of your head? Also, not real tight but not loose either. My hair is chin length. I put about half my hair over the bottom strap.
It is a challenge but worth it. It's a very comfortable mask. I took the mask off the other night and don't remember it at all. But it was only one night so the heck with it.
Oops... just realized you wear a skull cap. In that case, try tightening the bottom strap just a little. The cap may be helping the bottom strap to move around.
This struggle never seems to end... I definitely find that some nights are better than others.

Re: Swift FX Nano: Major Leak Issue
Good evening ems,
I think same as you, it is a VERY comfortable mask. I really like the fact there is not so much nasal mask on my face. After my face expressed that it no longer wished to use pillows, I had to change to a nasal mask.I really want to make it work and make this my main mask.
Top strap: I never put the top strap directly on the top of my head. The way it looks in the pictures is that it is barely hanging on top of the head. I'll put it on directly on the top of my head tonight.
Bottom strap: The bottom strap positioned closer to the bottom of my head? Yes. With the skull cap. My hair is the length you might say like pixie, the 2013 modern version of it. For me, there really isn't any hair to put through the bottom strap. When I had my hair about the length of my air pits, I used to throw it in a pony tail and put it over the bottom strap which worked super.
ems - The only reason I wear a skull cap is prevent the top hair from breaking. Have you noticed any of your hair breaking on the top of your head from wearing straps on top? Tonight, I won't wear the skull cap and see what the results are tomorrow.
I'll post what the results are tomorrow.
Thank you for your response.

Re: Swift FX Nano: Major Leak Issue
Yes, please let me know how the night went for you. Also, I haven't noticed any problems with my hair. I'm careful not to let the top strap pull my hair. I mess it up a bit in that area and not let it pull my hair... if you can understand what I mean.

Re: Swift FX Nano: Major Leak Issue
I have not forgotten to close. I have spent the last two nights at my parents house. I think I have something to work with. However, I need to do it at home and I will let you all know the results tomorrow.
Re: Swift FX Nano: Major Leak Issue
I have found that the hose can do a tug on the mask and give me a leak. If I keep a little of the hose under the covers and rout it to the side of my nose the leaks stop. I cannot comment as to the length of hair as I am bald and keep the little I have short, you ladies probably are not into that style. I do use a Ruby pure som chin strap and keep the top snug just in front of the top of the chin strap and the grey one just below the back of the chin strap.
