Need Help with MyEncore

I cannot get MyEncore to load. I get the error message "Unable to load MSDE. I have tried going to the local area network properties/file and printer sharing etc. But this will not fix the problem. Anyone have any other ideals?

Go to the "Search" button at the top of the page and do a search on "MSDE" and see if some of those threads tell you what you need to know.

I have, the only one that I found was the one as shown above. I can't get it to work.

(bear with me on the questions....this is not really my area of expertise)

Have you installed Encore Pro?....and the card reader (from the installation program)?

Have you set yourself up as a patient in the Encore Pro program?

Have you done a download from your card?

Is the Encore Pro program running when you tried to install the MyEncore program?

Do you have the .NET framework 1.1 installed on your computer?

If you go into Control Panel / Administrative Tools, is MSSQLSERVER running? SQLSERVERAGENT?
You can also check this last one (and some others) by doing a CTRL + ALT + DELETE and check the "Processes" that are running. May be MSSQLSERVER (sqlservr.exe) and Service Manager (sqlmangr.exe).

Let me know.....then I'll see if I've got any other ideas.

All it says is local area network is connected. I had to use the control alt delete because I could not find anything that said administrative??? But I guess I got to the right spot.

Oh, and yes everything was installed in that order. The encore Pro works fine, I transfered data to it already, but myencore will not open.

You're not making this very easy......

I assume that the Encore Pro version you're using is either 1.5 or 1.6.

What is the file size of the MyEncore you're trying to install?

MyEncore version 1.5B7 is 451 K. If yours is larger than that, you have the wrong version.

Did you set a password in MSSQL? (supposedly there shouldn't be one and I didn't have that issue in mine)

I'm running low on ideas.

It's supposed to be the 1.5 version encore pro and 1.5 version myencore. Yes, I ran out of ideas a loooong time ago.LOL!! Maybe I should delete the myencore and download it again. I did not put a password in it either. I went to Dereks installation page and did all that right. At least I beleive I did. I guess I'll piddle with it more tomorrow. I'm getting tired of messing with it tonight Thanks for your help though!!! When I reinstall it, I will go over the installation details very carefully.
