bi pap settings
bi pap settings
On my m series bi pap auto--- can anyone explain what max pressure support is? Thanks
Re: bi pap settings
Pressure support on the M Series BiPap is the difference between inhale and exhale pressure.
Maximum is just the greatest difference that can be set.
Maximum is just the greatest difference that can be set.

Re: bi pap settings
Something does not make sense for me.If on auto bi level , the machine lets me set the ipap at 15 and the epap at 5 ---then how can the ipap go to 15 if the max pressure support is 5 ?the machine will only allow the max pressure support to go to . Re: bi pap settings
On the M Series Bipap in auto bilevel mode the default minimum PS is 2 that you never see and the max PS is what you set it at...in this case 5 PS. So the machine has the ability for the PS to "roam" around between 2 and 5.
If the machine senses the need to increase IPAP (up to whatever maximum IPAP is) and PS of 5 needs to be exceeded it will drag EPAP up with it.
If it senses that EPAP needs to go up then it will push IPAP up.
Always keeping somewhere within that 2 to 5 range it can roam around at depending on what the machine senses the need.
I have some examples of it roam in some of my older reports when I was using the PR S1 model 750 bilevel machine which functioned like the M series Bipap that you have. Sometimes the pressure graphs showed barely the 2 cm difference between EPAP and IPAP and sometimes it showed the 4 cm max PS difference (which is what I was using).
