New guy looking for forum guidance

Post by pohocker » Wed Nov 13, 2013 1:43 pm

Hi all, I came across this site while Googling around re buying and selling cpap supplies.
For a few years now, I've been a cpap user, and have the RemStar Pro, M Series machine. Fortunately, I adapted well to the whole deal and have little problems with the whole cpap thing-matter of fact, I sort of enjoy it, for to me it's almost like an escape...I slap on the mask and am transported away until the next morning.
I've accumulated some cpap supplies that have just been lying around. The ones I was able to sell on Ebay, I did-Ebay prevents anything with a mask, though, and I have a few factory-sealed resupply bags that have masks in them along with other things and I'd prefer to not cannibalize them, but sell the whole thing at once. So being a new guy here, I wanted to check in and see if it is permissible or in line with forum etiquette to post those things for sale.
Thanks for any guidance.
Steve

You might want to try Craigs List for your local area. Sometimes people without insurance need to find supplies with a reasonable price.

I bought cushions on Amazon. You can pretty much sell anything cpap there, as long as it's not complete.
You can also post on local physical bulletin boards or put a poster in your car window, as long as it's not outside the DME.
(You never heard it here)
edit: You could park in the Wal Mart parking lot; their employees' "insurance" is very crappy.

Just post them and ask members to PM if there is interest. Sales of used equipment are not a big part of the forum but it is done from time to time. I bought a couple of unopened masks here.

That's bullsh**. One of my best friends worked for a local business for 12 years without health insurance. One day she made a very strange move and went to work as a cashier for Walmart. None of us could understand it and she could not explain it.

Ten months later she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 48, underwent a mastectomy and radiation. Paid only a few $50 copays. Today she is cancer free and has a full head of hair again.

Had she not made the move to Walmart we would have been doing community fund raisers to pay her bills.

I have friends who work at Wally world.
Their insurance paid on their sleep studies, but squat on their cpap equipment.
This includes a department manager who uses a Bipap.
You friend with cancer was very fortunate--I suppose some companies are more likely to cover the cause-worthy diseases.
It's better for their PR.
