They told me that they only carry P/R, so my Resmed items had to be ordered (maybe the P/R Wisp, as well).
" . . . Due to previous calls they had 3 of the four items I needed on hand."
I had spoken to someone or other about 3 or so times in the last several days before coming in.
She indicated everything is shipped from elsewhere, so in the future I can just call the 800 number to get supplies.
(which I probably will)

Re: Best Medicare CPAP supplier?
We had a DME locally we liked, no hassle, try on masks, etc.
They recently transferred their supply of masks/tubing/filters etc. to Tibro. I recently spoke to them - we need a new mask.
What a nightmare, it was like a slimy used car salesman.
They trashed our old DME, getting worse and worse, basically ended up saying our DME was so horrible at their job the insurance was not paying them any money and they were going bankrupt and Tibro saved them.
They said they HAD to send us supplies every 3 weeks, filters, mask parts, etc. And new mask, tubing, etc. every 3 months as our insurance company "required" it and the fact this was not being done before was big reason the insurance company had stopped paying our old DME.
I checked with our insurance company. None of this was true, our old DME is and has been in good standing with our insurance. Supplies are not needed on that schedule, we can be sent up to 6 months of disposable filters at one time, we can choose when we want new masks/tubing/etc. Nothing has changed at the insurance company over the last several years.
I checked with our mask company and they were shocked. They said the mask is warranted for 3 months - so what a great way to make more money, right after the warrantee is up insist another one is needed. Tibro has extra sales, makes lots of money for themselves. Which the insurance pays for it (which of course ends up raising rates and coming out of our pocket) and we pay for (our co pay amounts).
I highly encourage people to not use Tibro. If you must, know what they do that harms you (sending you extra supplies you pay for and that kick up your insurance rates), and control them no matter what they say.
It is hard to find a good DME, you need to know what your insurance will cover. Unlike someone above, I find that I can get information from my insurance company but you have to push (ask exactly for what you want - e.g. when can you get a new cpap, how many filters can be sent at once, etc.). And you have to ask for the right person to talk to - a supervisor, someone in the claims department, etc. Having the billing code helps lots - ask the DME to give you the billing code, or ask the insurance company to look up an old claim and get the billing code from that. If I have a billing code they can always tell me how much is covered, what my copay is, and how often it will be covered.
Best of look finding good DMEs. Thanks for the mask replacement info. Keep informing each other so we can make the system work for us.

Once again, you may click on my link to find providers.
You need to do this every year, since contracts with Medicare are signed or allowed to expire annually.
What is valid in your area may be different elsewhere, or next year.
Many medicare providers also service private insurance, but get the insce. co's list, hard copy!
