Different masks, different pressures?

Post by MeToo » Mon Nov 11, 2013 3:09 pm

I have been trying to switch from Resmed Activa nasal mask to the Puritan Bennett Breeze. Although the Activa is great, the marks left by nasal masks are frustrating. So, I've been trying to switch with mixed results: I've been getting a great seal with the Breeze, but I'm not sleeping that well. Only 1 every 4 nights or so is my AHI in the range I'm getting with the Activa. I've switched the setting on the auto-PAP from "nasal" to "pillows". Might one also need to change the pressure?

I'm currently running 10.6-13.8
Many thanks,
MeToo

No it should compensate automatically. Different masks often result in different 90% pressures. As long as you are not having terrible apnea problems for an extended period after the change, the machine should compensate properly on its own.

Just have some patience and allow the machine to do its job. It will level off and be fine.
