swift fx nasal pillows: point them in or out?

Post by hegel » Sun Nov 10, 2013 9:28 pm

I have mine angled "in". But every time that I get new pillow replacements I wonder. Is there a proper or preferred angle of direction? Because they could just as easily be angled to the outside, that is, pointing away from each other. No instructions are included.

Edited for clarification.

Angled in, if I understand you correctly. When you get a new mask it already comes assembled, so you can just put it on the way it is.

The Resmed lettering on the pillow should be facing away from you.

Another way of putting it is that the raised ResMed lettering on the nasal pillow should be facing up when you have the mask on. The good thing about checking this is that you can easily check the orientation of your nasal pillows in the dark just by feel if you need to.

If the raised lettering is on the bottom when you're wearing the mask, you have it upside down (unless you're standing on your head, of course *smile*...never mind).
