On occasion I notice I have very, very loud stomach growling in the middle of the night. I'm almost certain it is due to my CPAP, because once I get up in the morning it seems to go away. I don't think it wakes me up, but it is loud enough that I do notice it. There are nights when I've thought I could hear people talking or making sounds somewhere in my house or outside, and it turned out to be my stomach.
Oh, and yes, it tends to go along with being gassy.
Anyone else experience this? I did a search of the archive thinking I'd find lots of hits about this, but came up with very few.

Re: loud stomach growling
Loud stomach growling in the middle of the night is part of aerophagia. Be happy that yours is not the painful variety. However, if it's noisy enough that it's waking you up, that's an issue.
Do a search for aerophagia and you'll get some tips.
But be warned: Guys with non-painful aerophagia tend to simply fart or burp it out and enjoy the being gross for a legitimate reason; it seems only the ladies worry about the embarrassment factor. Pain on the other hand? Both sexes want tips on reducing the aerophagia when it's painful enough to cause problems.

Re: loud stomach growling
Stomach acid will do the same thing. Next time it happens, chew a couple of Tums and see if it makes a difference.

Re: loud stomach growling
I have never had problems with aerophagia until a few months ago. I noticed that when I get up in the morning... every step produces enviable "fart" noises. Robysue is right... I am particularly proud of them....
