Tap Pap Dilemma

Post by BeckyLC » Wed Oct 30, 2013 12:55 pm

I have two issues -- 1) What am I doing wrong that when I search for "Tap Pap" absolutely nothing comes up? I know there has been tons of discussion. I've tried it every which way I can think of - two words, one word, caps or not - I get no results.
2) This is a rant -- I love this mask. I melted the tubing (yes, I was stupid, I know that). They sell every single other part for this mask, but not the tubing. I can get a bolt for heavens sake, but not tubing! When I couldn't find it online, I called the company - nope, they don't sell the only part of this mask that WILL melt! And pretty much made it clear JUST how stupid I was. If anyone has a suggestion so that I don't have to replace the entire thing, please let me know. I know the Swift FX tubing won't fit (close, but no), but I'm wondering about the SleepWeaver tubing. If anyone has both of these masks and would try it and let me know, I would be very grateful.

The SW hose will not fit. I discovered a problem with my Tap Pap when I took the hose off. My big plastic part is cracked at the seam. I have had so much trouble keeping the pillows in and now I know why.

Yes, Google works, but why does nothing come up when I use the search box at the top of this page?

You're right - they don't offer that part, either. Might that be under warranty? I know I caused my own problem, but maybe you could get a replacement. If not, I'll split the cost of a new one with you since we need different parts!

I glued my tap pap and realized that the seam does not touch the pillows. I do use my tap pap from time to time but I will not order another. I will look a little later and see if perhaps another hose might work. I have not been wearing my oxygen today and I have a headache.

I did some experimenting.  This ez talk connector will fit in the tap pap, and then add a hose coupling, then your main hose.  I don't know if it will be comfortable, but it's cheaper than a whole new mask.

I think I have a workable solution. I will send you a private message in a couple of minutes.

I robbed an old short hose from a really tired gel mask of some sort. Really tight fit on the plastic barrel of the tap pap but a couple tiny snips got it done. I think I would still secure that area with a bit of tape. Then I found another coupling to go at the long hose end.

I have an EZ talk connector...maybe mine is different but it swallows the plastic end of the Tap Pap.

Oh...the forum search engine freaks out with 3 letter words..if you do tappap all one word you gets some hits but not what you want I am sure.

Thanks for all the help. Hopefully the tap pap people will eventually start making ALL the parts available!

I had the same difficulty with the search. Folks on this forum advised using it as one word lower case "tap pap" and that brought up a huge long discussion, 18 pages, some recent. I am about to order this mask myself, definitely worth a try, and it has a 30-day trial period.
