My concentrator if fairly large in that it puts out up to 15ltr. I also use a portable liquid oxygen unit that I can refill from a large tank on my porch. The portable concentrators (usually batter operated) are apparently more expensive than medicare wants to pay for so I do not have one of those.

By the way if you are on oxygen 24/7 please make sure your provider has also given you backup tanks and make sure you understand how to use them. Machines do fail, and power does go out. When this happens you will need to revert to your backup system.

Concentrators also require periodic testing and maintenance. Airsep recommends every 90 days, but providers can establish their own protocol. Please make sure you know how often they will re-test the oxygen purity and please hold them to it. Most machines are not equipped to self-check oxygen concentration and over time will loose efficiency. When this happens they will deliver less concentrated oxygen and more room air. Just because the machine seems like it's working doesn't mean it is.

I wish I had a portable concentrator. Those little bottles don't last long at all.

My headache got so bad I had to put the oxygen back on. Now I have a headache and a sore nose. I need to stop complaining I really am blessed.

I do have backup tanks. I forgot how often he said he would come by. He delivered everything the day I got home from the hospital.

I was finally given the soft cannulas and the foam ear pieces from the oxygen provider. They didn't help me a bit. The foam pieces kept coming off the tubes and the nose piece seemed to dig in my nose even more.

Karen from Pad A Cheek made me pads for me for my cannulas and they are amazing. I am so happy with them. My ears and nose feels so much better now.
