Machine not registering full sleep time?
Machine not registering full sleep time?
My husband got his machine (Resmed S9 Elite) about 6 weeks ago. He's working nights right now. He went to bed about 8 this morning, up at 11:15 for about 15 minutes then back to bed til about 3:15 this afternoon. I checked the time on his machine as soon as he got up and it said 1.0 hours. I just loaded his card to both ResScan & SleepyHead and they both show only 1 hour. Why would it only show 1 hour, I don't understand!!

Re: Machine not registering full sleep time?
'cause the machine resets its counters at noon.
It should show additional hours on the previous day's data.

Re: Machine not registering full sleep time?
That makes sense that it would reset at noon, but wouldn't it have 3.25 hours then, since he woke up at 3:15?

Re: Machine not registering full sleep time?
Noon for the machine may not be noon for you.
On PR System One machines, you have to tell the software what time zone you are in with respect to the time zone the machine thinks it is in.
I presume something similar applies to ResMed machines. Just a guess.

Re: Machine not registering full sleep time?
Ok, thanks for the info!! Will have to figure out how to set the time zone.

Re: Machine not registering full sleep time?
SleepyHead has a time zone setting. ResScan doesn't that I know of so if the time is off in ResScan then that's the machine clock.
The S9 machines have a clock that has to be set to local time. It's possible that the machine's clock is off...so check it too.
The clock is available only in the clinical set up menu though. Have you seen it to verify the time that the machine is set to is correct?

Re: Machine not registering full sleep time?
The clock is the culprit! I just checked it and it said 21:05 and it is 23:15. The 2 hours difference plus the 1 hour it showed adds up to the 3 hours after noon that I would have expected. I also adjusted the MIN Pressure a bit (it was set to 5) to 6. His MAX is 8. He has complained about "not getting enough air" so he keeps pushing the Mask Fit, which I've read is at 10 or Max Pressure, whichever is greater. I'm thinking after we take his SD card on Monday for his last compliance check, that I will change his Max to 10 and maybe his MIN to 8 so he will be more comfortable. Although, I can't imagine being comfortable at that pressure after me being at 21-16 for almost a year now!!!
Thank you so much for helping me out!! This group is awesome!!
