epoxy, superglue, duct tape and packing tape

epoxy, suprerglue, duct tape and packing tape are your friends.

Packing tape fixes a hose with a hole in it - either because the hose is fractured because of a collision with a pet, or because it simply tears because it is very old and you have not replaced it. Duct tape can be formed into ring gaskets, like the ones that go from your gasket to the humidifier.

A drop of superglue and a bit of paper can repair those holes in the mask that let O2 in for those people who need it when you lose your little plugs - ask me how I know that. When you are going into your thirde year on a mask, the plasticizer evaporates and the plastic becomes subject to cracking. Depending on the crack, superglue or epoxy can reattack parts or provide bracing - again with a little paper to brace it.

Duct tape can provide semi permanent repairs to many things that are not intentionally flexible.

Yes, I worry all the time about sleeping without a CPAP. More than once I have had to run around in a strange town looking for a DME to sell me a mask or a hose. But what always scared me most is that my CPAP itself would break and I would not be able to find anyone to repair mine or rent me one on an emergency basis. Now I have a spare for emergencies.

Now that I am used to the unit, I can't imagine being without it.
It is wonderful.

Thanks for the ideas too....I will make sure I take stuff with me on our vacation. I can use WIFI to get in her part of the time, but for the most part
I will be relaxing in fresh air.
Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.
