Had a 10 year old kid come into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a regional hospital. He weighed close to 250lbs. His forhead was deformed with an indentation due to his sleeping on his stomach with his forhead supported by his head board. He did this to keep his airway open. We ended up having to provide him with a tracheostomy and insert a regular endo-tracheal tube into his stoma. He naturally compensated for his inability to breathe. His mom then brings him a large pizza for lunch. She did not suffer as he did from his bariatric condition. She was a total enabler...AUTOMATIC

I often wondered about those that weigh 700 lbs that you read about. The firefighters have to cut a door in the house to get them out. How did they get their food. Who brought them 1 ham 2 gallons of milk a dozen eggs 2 lbs bacon every day. Hell they can't get out of their room . Someone had to feed them. This kid is just another example . Lucky he made it to the hospital when he did or we'd be reading about him at 900 lbs some day if he lived that long.

Cheers,

Chris

My father use to lecture me about losing weight then 20 minutes later would bring me a big bowl of ice cream.
