I've also heard good things about cherry juice; but from tart cherries, not black (sweet) cherries.

I bought a bottle of Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate from Vitamin Shoppe. It claims to be "a rich source of melatonin" but provides no numbers. Two tablespoons before bedtime, two nights in a row; too soon to tell, but maybe it's helping.

When they say "tart" they ain't kidding.

Being from Michigan, where lots of cherries are grown I will throw in my 2 cents, you might want to buy juice concentrate from an orchard, not a vitamin shop, theses guys are great. http://kingorchards.com/store.htm?categ ... oncentrate. Try mixing a few tablespoons with OJ or club soda. You can also get dried cherries, they are great in trail mix, on oatmeal, or baked in cookies, like raisins only better. A pie made with frozen or fresh tart (montmorencey) cherries or Balatons , a cross between tarts and sweets is a treat.Who says good for you can't be good. Kathy. ( helping to support the Mich economy:). )

Someone cherry-picking data to make their point. In this case, marketing cherries.

Do not know about apnea but black cherry juice cleared up my Dads gout. It have to be pure organic and not from concentrate. One bottlea week from health food store and bis gout stayed clear. Skip a couple weeks and if came back. YMMV.

You owe it to yourselves to explore the natural world of tart cherries through Brownwood Acres/FruitFast The nations #1 supplier. They also offer whole fruit pastes unlike any other (not dry powders) Tart Cherries contain natural melatonin (instead of isolated compound) and unlike Black Cherries which are very high in sugars, the Tarts help support healthy joint function. You're getting into a whole new field here...

Melatonin is not specifically for any one disease or ailment. Melatinin helps you sleep. To my knowledge it is not a cure for anything.

I take 3 tart cherry pills from the health food store every night. I used to drink the juice but I prefer not to drink a bunch of liquid before I go to bed so switched to pills. I got the organic juice at the grocery store and used to drink about 1/4 -1/2 cup.
