Here is a contrary comment

Have you tried a cover (Snuggle Cover, eg) for your hose? I had a lot of rainout with my heated humidifier set on the next to highest setting and the room temperature in the winter getting down often to 62F and sometimes 60F. The Snuggle Cover for about $15 eliminated 99% of the rainout.

I avoided the cost of the heated hose, the extra heat in the house during summer, and another appliance to find an outlet for. The Snuggle Cover also dampens the noise of the hose when I move around at night.

I am glad heated hoses are there for those who need them and if conditions change for me I will order one. However for now the Snuggle Cover is a cheaper, simpler solution and you can get one delivered more quickly.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I agree 100%

I initially bought a cover but it was really useless. Then after 8 months, I decided to get a fleecy one & it worked so well I went back & bought 2 more (only cost me $9.99 each on the bay )

I hear all the good stories about the heated hose & must say, haven't really heard a bad word about them, but the fleecy hose I have now sure works for me.

DSM

xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

Rooster, what's so 'contrary' about this?
I didn't have my rented equipment a week before I purchased some fleece, and made a double-length sleeve for the hose. The double-length allows me to 'scrunch' it, thus getting even more insulation.
Your idea is great, practical, and best of all, costs nearly nothing - especially in electricity or maintenance.

Good idea; keep thinking along those lines.

p.s. I made mine for a lot less, but then you most likely don't have a sewing machine? Hey, glue works too! ....OR gool 'ol DUCKtape, ha ha.

If you need anymore, let me know! ($$) guaranteed less than eBay, and will even do in 'Tiger stripes'

Heck, yeah! Now, I wonder why black doesn't surprise me?!
How about ten bucks for TWO? that's 1/2 price of the other ones.
If interested, give me the hose length, and PM me your address.
Do you want any glitter or glow-in-the dark thingies on it?
Will let you know about available colors, but it ought to be available.
Hey, if not, I'LL KNIT you one, but price may be higher, maybe not. But just think: You'll be the envy of your neighborhood, dude.
Cool, you've given me lots of weird , offerocker-type of ideas!
...at your service...
