Don't suppose you have a copy of your old RX for the cpap machine from 9 years ago?
You would need a RX to buy online...which would be much less costly than buying from a brick and mortar DME store.
Any doctor can write the RX though..doesn't have to be sleep doctor.

You might register here at the forum and send forum member STL Mark a private message. I think he still has a Respironics PR S1 model 560 for sale...$400 for everything.

A prescription can also be written by a physician's assistant, a nurse practitioner, or even a dentist.

Have you considered doing an exit interview with the cpap machine? Maybe the problem is something you can solve with the next cpap you hire. Then you may have long term relationship.

How helpful! Are you auditioning for a comedy gig somewhere (not the first one liner you posted)? Sometimes humor is appropriate, sometimes not so much.

Considering the +50% dropout rate for cpap that's quoted here and there, there should be many many almost unused machines available out there. (As a matter of fact I have a friend, but rather than connect you to him I'm going to encourage him to use it.)

Just did a fast check of E-Bay and found that sales of cpap machines is banned there. However an equally fast search of Craigslist for cpap machines in Oklahoma City displayed many used machines for sale in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Good Luck.

I am sorry but I always think laughing at problems is better than obsessing about them and feeling sorry for oneself. I may be posting a duplicate because I thought I had posted before. This will be the last time I complain. I am now diagnosed with severe sleep apnea( more than 50 times per hour. I had tumor induced osteo malacia which caused me to have numerous fractures and stress fractures. I had more than 30 in my tailbone and more than 45 in my pelvis. Every rib was fractured some more than once. I needed emergency surgery to place a rod in my thigh bone. I have a brain tumor ( apparently no longer growing), crohn's disease, sever anemia which requires multiple units of blood periodically, afib, which is tough to treat because of my anemia, and other symptoms for which I will not go to the Doctor because of the bad news I continually get.
I go to work every day. I am a trial lawyer with a high concentration of criminal defense case and if I make a mistake an not guilty person may be imprisoned. I have a normal sex life, and I go out at night. I have taken up running although they time me with a calendar rather than a watch. Humor and laughing enable me to live a normal life that medicine cannot provide.
However if enough people find silly humor unacceptable I will stop it. Please let me know your opinion. It is note my role in life to make other people unhappy.

I never liked porn because I giggle when I see how ridiculous people look during sex. You just have to see the silly side of everything. If you are laughing you are not hurting.

My friend, You are in luck! I am a sleep physician in Oklahoma City. Several things you would need for new CPAP. Ideally you need a copy of your previous sleep study along with an RX. However, as you indicated, if you do not have insurance, all you would need is an RX. Let me know if you need to come and see me and I would be happy to provide you with an RX (PM Me and I'll give you my office info). You could also get the Rx from your PCP. Ideally, I would say most people lean towards Respironics PR System 1 560 or Resmed S9 Autoset. The 560 for $400 is a great deal. I can help you get close to that price on a Resmed S9 Autoset at a few DME in town. Either way, I hope you succeed in getting your machine replaced, and I would be happy to help if you need it! Good Luck!
