The important thing is DON'T GIVE UP.
Hardly anyone is as hard to fit as I was--I say, "was", because nearly 3 years later and 20+ masks,
I finally found one that really works.
It could have happened sooner, but I am not rich--and my go-to mask is fairly new.

Hang in there. I had to go through EIGHT different masks (and there are people here who went through 12 or more!) and ended up with the first mask after all.

See my tips for Taming the Mirage Quattro, they will help.

The other thing we need to know is what machine you have. A ResMed S9 autoset has a handy dandy "mask fit" feature that allows you to press a button and it will take your pressure to the Maximum pressure. THAT's the pressure you should be fitting your mask at, NOT the beginning pressure. Respironics machines do not have the mask fit feature (I think I've heard the newest ones might, but I'm not sure)--but we can tell you how to set your machine to max pressure just for the purpose of fitting the mask, then set it back to your doctor's prescription. To help you, we need to know the MAKE, the MODEL NUMBER, and your PRESSURE PRESCRIPTION.

And don't forget that you MUST fit your mask lying down, with the machine on.
