Repironics FitLife Questions

Post by 123.Shawn T.W. » Sun Sep 08, 2013 6:36 am

I tried out a new to me FitLife last night ...

I got it on and adjusted, but the top strap did not seem to shorten up enough, so the side straps was touching my ears, is this normal?

I had to tighten it down quite abit for my beard ... finely got it to seal ... but, I could only keep it sealed if I stayed laying on my back! I roll around quite abit, and spend 85-90% of my time on my sides (mostly right side) As soon as the mask touched the pillow it would lift the other side off to leak and fart! Does anybody who uses this sleep on your side?

After 15 -20 minutes ... I switched back to my Mirage Quattro ...

Are you referring to the Fitlife Total Face mask or the Fitlife Full Face?

It just says "FitLife" but it covers my whole face, forehead, eyes, cheeks, nose, mouth ... so ... probably "Total"

Reorder number of 1060802 ...

ETA: I just clicked on the link in your post to your mask, it is the same one ... Total

The FitLife is the only mask I've ever used because of some damage I have on my nose.

The top strap does seem to need a bit more adjustment length, but it has worked for me to keep the side straps above my ears. I have read of a few people having issues with the head gear that they dealt with by using a soft knit hat under it or by using the size small headgear with the large mask.

As far as using it on your side. It is something you will have to practice with. I've been able to do it without much trouble, though I rarely sleep on my side because of shoulder problems. You may want to look into a CPAP pillow. I imagine that might help a lot due to the size of the FitLife.

I'm just curious: does anyone have a problem with this mask drying out their eyes?

I've never had an issue with dry eyes. But I also have my humidifier set on 3/3.

Yes... I think the ear thang' is normal, but it's not suppose to be. Sometimes the strap will slide down on me, too. I think it may have to do with the structure of your head. I have found that if you tighten the "top of the head" strap, it will prevent this. I don't keep this strap tight... but barely snug.

I had to tighten it down quite abit for my beard ... finely got it to seal ... but, I could only keep it sealed if I stayed laying on my back! this is unusual... I use the Quattro as my back up. But I found that the two masks are not that far off in difference (I have a feeling I goin' to be barked at for that remark!! ) Y
The Quattro is under my eyes and the Total is above. The chin part is almost in the same place.

When my cushion wears out... for me... it's around the temples. Also, Respironics revised their head gear and the velco lasts longer and the head gear doesn't seem to stretch out like the old one did. It for me.. it it made the mask/head gear last longer.
