Five days ago I closed my pressure range from 5-20cm to 6-12cm. This was based on my 95% pressure reading on sleepyhead was about 8.5, with most spikes be under 10cm and only a few at 12cm.
But I have also noticed that some nights I spend a few hours bouncing along at 6cm. Would it be worth lowering the bottom figure (6cm) to 5cm to allow the APAP to go down in pressure when required. Or does going down low cause any problems.
Thanks Dave
P.S. In the last few months I have had mask leak problems, but last night I tried the CPAPmax pillow and the leak rates was done. So will have to hope that this may help.

Re: Pressure adjustment
Are you dealing with any aerophagia issues?
And how do you feel when the pressure is below 6cm?
If there's lots of aerophagia, then it's quite possible that allowing the machine to start at 5cm and (possibly) bounce around 5cm, going up to 6cm only when needed may take the edge off the aerophagia.
If there's no aerophagia, then lowering the min pressure to 5 might be counterproductive. Some people feel as though there's not enough air coming through the mask at very low pressures and that increases the discomfort. Also if you need 6cm to control most of your apneas and hypopneas, then dropping the min pressure to 5cm may increase the AHI slightly since the machine will wait until the events have started to increase the pressure up to the point where they are properly prevented.

Re: Pressure adjustment
Up to now that has not been a problem and I have been a total of 5-6 years on XPAP (with a break in between).
Maybe I should just leave the lower pressure on 6cm, years ago when I was on straight CPAP I think my pressure was close to 7cm.
The reason that I asked about lowering it was purely that I show some days on Sleepyhead I noticed that I was right on the 6cm.
