New to ResMed: ClimateLine not working?

Post by Iowamv » Thu Sep 05, 2013 7:28 pm

Just got a ResMed s9 Elite machine. I have the ClimateLine attached, and it is set so that I can manually adjust temp and humidity. Shouldn't the water drop icon turn into an icon that has both a thermometer and water drop? Mine still looks like a water drop. Does that mean that it is not recognizing that the ClimateLine is attached? I get the same thing if the machine if climate control is set to auto.

Is the black cover removed from the electrical connector on the back of the humidifier? When you take the hose off the machine, then put it back on it needs to rotate into this section with the connector. You should see a change in the display when that connection is made.

Yes, you should see both the thermometer and the water drop together.

Is the electrical connector on the ClimateLine hose snapped into place on the back of the humidifier? You have to remove a rubber/silicone cover on the back of the humidifier (see picture 1) in order to expose the connector. When clicking it into place (while the machine is plugged in) it should briefly pop up a message on the screen "Climate Control enabled"

Yep, I took that off and rotated it into position (it feels like it is clicking and locking into position). No change to the icon.

With the machine still plugged in and powered up, but not running, try disconnecting the ClimateLine from the back of the H5i humidifier and "re-seating"/re-connecting it. As soon as it clicks into place you should see the message pop up and then also be able to see both the water drop and the thermometer.

If that doesn't work I am wondering if it's a bad connection (either the hose itself or something with the connector on the humidifier)

Well thanks everyone. I've tried reseating the hose, unplugging the machine and plugging it back in... Nothing seems to be working. And it is past my bedtime. I guess I'll return to the DME tomorrow and have them take a look at it. G'night.

Made a visit to the DME today. RT asked me to show her how I was connecting the hose. After I passed that test, the conclusion was that it was not working properly. Got a new one, connected it in the store, and presto! I have both humidity and temperature controls.
