What is the difference between a Respironics 560P and a 560HS?

The letters after the 3 digit number seem to pretty meaningless on PR model numbers. My guess is there's no real difference between a 560P and a 560HS.

from Respironics web site
S = SD card capable
HS = System One humidifier and SD card capable
TS = System One Heated Tube humidifier and SD card capable
They didn't explain pro
I have the 560p it is sd card capable , but it has to have an upgraded power supply/upgraded humidifier to run heated hose . I have the upgraded power supply and the special hose but I don't use that hose. Too hot where I live . The kit sells for 75.00 on secondwind . The 560p is a great auto and data capable machine ,I run sleepyhead software to view the sd card.
If you live in a cold bedroom get the heated hose. STLmark on here has some very good buys on these machines. These companies intentionally use this confusing system to let their dealers stick you with low end machines.
from secondwind listings
The DS100/DS150 is a standard CPAP machine that has basic functions, such as ramp and altitude adjustment.

The DS200/DS250/DS260 is the newest generation of the REMstar Plus with CFLEX. It has all the functions/features of its predecessor.

The DS400/DS450/DS460 differs from the DS200 in two very distinct ways: It automatically adjusts for altitude (DS200 is manual) and the Smart Card records very detailed information such as your *AHI (Apnea Hyponea Index), compliance data, leak rate data, etc. (the DS200 records only standard compliance data).

The DS500/DS510/DS550/DS560 The auto titration flow device will automatically adjust the pressure to provide you the least amount of pressure needed to keep your airway open enough to eliminate Apnea and Hypopnea episodes. This is the ideal machine for those individuals who have not been formally evaluted through a Sleep Study. This device also allows you to see view your *AHI.

Note: Approximately 80% of all individuals using CPAP therapy have a therapeutic pressure between 6-14cm h20. It is most probably the case that as time passes, and the auto titration technology becomes more affordable, all machines will have it as a basic option, as it provides the most accurate pressure for any given breath.
I am sure some others will be here with a better explanation .

In my experience, the P is for ordering just the blower. The HS indicates it will be packaged with a humidifier.

Fantastic, thanks for the info. So it sounds like the HS will do everything my 560P will do, plus have a heated hose.

I appreciate the info!

Nope, that's the TS. The HS just has the heated (water) humidifier. The TS adds the heated tube (requiring the 80W power supply).
